Not as exciting as coins or bullion but today I received this stunning solid wood sovereign box from @Ranger2girls
 

1853 Shield Sovereign
Arrived today and whilst not the highest grade I like the uniqueness of these earlier sovereigns, each one a little different.
1853 was a year renowned for mint errors.

It’s 86, I’ve managed to get a better photo.
 

A nice 1870 shield sovereign arrived today, a belated birthday present from me to me.
Well that’s my excuse anyway....
I’m struggling to see the die number, 83, 86 or 53? Who knows.
 

My elbow is still aching from polishing that sugar bowl. 😆

Some random 1oz silver coins from Sharps Pixley and I got this nice 2008 Kookaburra.
I’ve only ever had one Kookaburra before so this was a nice surprise. The finish is almost proof like.

This arrived today, the stunning silver 1oz Queens Beasts. 😍
Wow, I like this design.
Worth grading?

Received today, the 1929 Perth mint George V sovereign. Rated as ‘scarce’.
Sold and bought twice on the forum in two days. Thanks @Leonmarsh and @Shep I got it in the end. 😆

The 1931 SA sovereign arrived today. I’m getting closer to completing the George V, small head Sovereign collection.
Six down (two not in the photo) four to go and that’s all ten of the George V small head variety.

Another Victoria silver Crown, this time the 1888, a date I’ve wanted for a while.
It’s a little worn as most of these are but it does have a nice patina to it.
 

I bought these from a local auction house and although a little worn they’re great examples of late Victoria Crowns.
Which, ironically, was the coin that planted the ‘seed’ of coin collecting and PM’s for me. Since then it’s been 20+ years since I’ve owned one of these.

Where did he buy those ear muffs from?

Received last week, the proof 1oz Britannia, but I’m on the fence with this.
I think the design will divide opinion.

Arrived today, the 1930 Perth mint sovereign, rated as rare by Marsh. Not perfect but seems a little illusive to find.
Very happy to have this sovereign and that’s the 1930 Melbourne, South Africa and Perth collection done.

Received today, two very nice George V ‘small head’ Sovereigns.
The 1929 being the first of the ‘small head’ Sovereigns and the 1932 being the last year Sovereigns were minted in George V’s reign.

My random sovereign arrived today and it’s ironic that it was a 1914 as I have a big interest in WW1.
Now, who’s got a 1915, 1916, 1917 and a 1918 to sell. I can see another date run coming on.... 😬
It’s a bit battered but I wonder who handed this into the bank as the last circulated sovereigns were collected for the new pound notes.

I bought into the hype earlier this week and bought a few of the low mintage Una and the lion bars.
Its a shame they’ve put the label on the front of the 10oz bar but that’s the Royal Mint for you.
