The third in The James Bond Collection, Shaken Not Stirred 2020 Quarter-Ounce Gold Proof Coin.



...the second 007 1/4 oz gold proof returned to The Royal Mint and awaiting on replacement.

Sovsaver, thank you...yes, the lines joining the letters. The line is an impression into the field and lettering, which I thought would be from a misaligned die, as it also has that edge curvature...but could very well be a die crack. The die crack forward of the date “1” is very noticeable and raised. 

Kman, yeah, under magnification you can see hairlines...shows up even better under microscope magnification. 

That has to be one of the largest pencils I have ever seen.

Received an 1859 Young Victoria Shield Gold Sovereign in what looks to be VF condition from a seller on eBay. Also looks like there might be misaligned die evidence on the 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock edge of the obverse.

Fifth Class was intended for non-commissioned personnel. Fourth and Third Class were intended for Warrant and Officer grades. Second and First Class were intended for one to four star grades.

Having served in the second Gulf War with our coalition partners, this latest arrival has great meaning...the “Behind Enemy Lines” Gulf War Gold Full Sovereign Coin Medal Set.
The set includes a 1980 Gold Sovereign, one of 16,289 Sovereigns that were issued to British Military personnel taking part in Operation GRANBY as part of the Coalition Forces during the Gulf War 17 January to 26 February 1991.
Sovereigns were provided by the Ministry of Defence and carried by any servicemen who, it was thought, might find themselves isolated and in need of bargaining power if confronted by unfriendly forces.
Several Sovereigns were used during the War, mainly by Royal Air Force crews shot down over enemy territory and SAS, but all the uncaptured coins were returned to the Ministry of Defence at the conclusion of the conflict, having served their purpose.
The Ministry of Defence confirms that this sovereign is one of the coins returned during the Gulf War by military personnel on completion of their missions into enemy territory.
