  1. The Long Count ended and subsequently was restarted, so it hasn't ended yet. Much like gold, funny number goes up and down in cycles.
  2. Couldn't do a .9999 for the boys? For shame.
  3. Let's not bully this tiny backyard mint any more than necessary! These difficult questions about quality and caring about customers will come in due time. For now it's only something big boy mints are concerned with. Yes yes, promises were made, but better luck next time. Sound good? Alright, now buy this 1993 1/10 Uglycoin™️ for a mere 87% premium, postage £40 (prior purchase approval from your bank needed).
  4. Kharkov front just opened, so that might drive things up a bit.
  5. I'll make a wanted add in the EU section come next month for a non-scruffy sov, budget and prices willing.
  6. You got a shiny new one for sale next month?
  7. I was having up for a 1oz maple, but at his rate I'll have to settle for a scruffy sov. To whomever's failing hard at the Big Stage: stop, you need to stop.
  8. It's currently about $27.25, so that's about 6.81 Wongers and rising. 7 Wongers before June is definitely possible, depending on the ever capricious moods of papa gold.
  9. When updating the spreadsheet after a new purchase. Helps keeping track of all kinds of things like average purchase price, historical trends and may provide an idea of where pricing could be headed.
  10. What's some of the better value dealers, KC? Seems to vary depending on what you're looking for, in my very limited experience
  11. It does what it says on the can. It's a hand written signature, displayed on the product. There's no relation between the signature and the product, its just digitally tacked on, instead of manually added, which is what the issue seems to be about. Nowhere, however, is it said that the signature is manually added, despite this being the suggestion made. It's the closest thing to scamming I've seen in a while. Remarkably dark business this mint is. Yet legal.
  12. Chinese pandas come to mind. 30g instead of a proper oz. Messing with fiat currency is fine, the norm even, but don't touch my ounces. Pure heresy.
  13. A lot of people don't seem to know that inflation doesn't mean to then as people versus what it means to those 'calculating' inflation. Inflation is calculated according to 'weighed variables' in most countries. This means that even if energy, housing and groceries are up 100% over 2 years, you can claim 2% inflation. You just count these silly minor things as minimal weight in the larger equation to make them disappear. Turkey, for example, doesn't have 60% inflation. It's slightly over 400%.
  14. Are there any parallels you'd see with South Africa that might be relevant to the larger gold price discussion? Im asking only because my mind tricks me into thinking you mentioning that you had lived there for a while. Disregard and sue me for defamation if I'm making things up pls.
  15. I'm terrified of buying saving up for a 1oz gold Kruger now. I'll stick to 1/10th's and some silver twice a month. Might be nice to collect a 1/10th of all types for aesthetics. It's just getting too expensive. With eastern fingers prying the market away from western hands it's too unpredictable now for larger purchases. Maybe I'm just a peasant 1st class. Don't even have a boat to lose my stack in 😢
  16. Resume posting on gold price or you're getting Friday's hose again
  17. Think I can try and call the PAMP bars a work of art in order to lower VAT?
  18. It's not necessarily the wage. It's what you can frivolously spend from that wage that counts. If sub 60% goes to rent, you're lucky nowadays. That's 60% gone before paying for a car, children, groceries, heating and so on. £1 doesn't mean what it did.
  19. It still feels weird to hold a button-sized 1/10 Kruger and rationalize it being £190-200. Especially next to it's value in silver next to it.
  20. £1900/month excl. in the current market
  21. Unless another USS Liberty incident happens we probably should expect (and be happy with) plateauing for a while.
  22. Ah yes, the graphs. They're numerous, but not good for much.
  23. Imagine the old man making a call to the right people and declaring gold to be £5000/oz from now on.
  24. I agree, don't get me wrong. But if the questions is - what PM to spend £2000 on now - would it be platinum?
