  1. Thank you for taking the time to respond. No offence taken, I simply wanted clear the apparent confusion. The coin is not loose and is held in some form of resin. I know that the pedant passed from my grandmother to mother so I am confident in at least 100 years provenance. The jeweller also told me it is genuine. Beyond that, I have no idea.
  2. How odd. - I only joined the forum at Stackerp5’s suggestion so it seems a bit harsh to suggest otherwise. I inherited the peso, the, Guinea, a sovereign, a sacagewea dollar and 2 1967 one penny coins. I did indeed take these to a local jeweller who confirmed all genuine and purchased the sovereign but could not take the guinea due to the mount I asked Stackerp5 about the guinea precisely because he purchased the peso - I assumed an interest in coins. If there is a problem with the peso he only has to let me know which he can do through eBay. So sorry no intrigue just a simple question from someone who knows very little about coins.
  3. I have inherited this item and have no idea of value to insure. Cam anyone help?
