  1. And the news gets worse regarding £2 coins: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/coins-royal-mint-llantrisant-coronavirus-18955123 (10 Years = NEVER)
  2. I really used to be into collecting £2 coins before Covid. I would go into the bank every week, withdraw about £200 worth, keep the commemorative coins, bank the rest again. But Covid killed it for me, plus the Royal Mint hasn't released any new commemorative £2 coins into the wild since 2016: https://www.royalmint.com/corporate/circulating-coin/uk-currency/mintages/two-pounds/
  3. Sorry, misread your original post, I'll leave others with better understanding of law to reply
  4. Both, sometimes individual companies like Barrick Gold, Rio Tinto, Antofagasta, Fresnillo plc, etc. Other times I don't want the headache of watching price of individual companies, so buy into an ETF like WisdomTree Physical Gold (PHGP): https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/w/wisdomtree-physical-gold-gbp Or, Investment Trust like BlackRock World Mining Trust plc (BRWM): https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/b/blackrock-world-mining-ordinary-5p
  5. "You'll own nothing and be happy" Danish Politician Ida Auken in a 2016 essay for the World Economic Forum (WEF)
  6. I can tell by his avatar he likes authority 😀 I'm guessing no one is going to tell me what NBS is? 🤔
  7. When you get older you realise every relationship is based on some sort of mutual interest When I was in my early 20s I worked in IT at a hospital and noticed the men above 40 were so cynical; I now understand why 🤔
  8. I know you say not to talk about it, but what is NBS in relation to TSF? Notice this post talks about it:
  9. Rule 4. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only precious metals* * The Emperor of Mankind APPROVES of precious metals; All currency & debt has been banished to the realm of Chaos
  10. The Roman's didn't mess around when under threat! Just listened to a podcast about Publius Claudius Pulcher (aka Clodius) What an absolute Canute! He would make a perfect template for a Hollywood villain
  11. It's amazing how perception & opinion could made Aluminium more valuable than gold during the 19th century Wonder what things people in the future will look back on the 21st century and laugh at us (e.g. The hysteria of climate change)
  12. That sucks; Did the police find the criminals or your insurance cover your loss?
  13. Rule 3. Thou shall not fall foul of The Royal Mint's "Quality Control"
  14. Do you guys think the switched on Romans, Greek, Assyrians, etc triggered on to the fact the silver gold ratio was closer in Egypt? You think they went to Egypt, exchanged the silver for gold, went back home and made a mint? Ancient form of trading the silver gold ratio
  15. It mimics it pretty well, i.e. silver price goes up, Fresnillo Plc share price goes up, and vice versa We're you can disconnect, is if the company has really good results, it's goes well beyond the spot price of silver increase However, if company has bad results (like Barrick Gold did last year), losses get amplified That's why I buy ETFs to avoid the shock I received from Barrick Gold last year Plus, buying & selling via stock market is so much easier than buying physical silver (Actually buying is easy, selling silver is hassle)
  16. I think everyone on this forum agrees that gold, silver, & copper is REAL money But, unfortunately everyone outside of this forum think's fiat currency & debt is money It's hard to explain to normies the difference between money & currency (I don't bother anymore); Let them eat DEBT!
  17. You are right, high ratio, good to stack silver While we'll never get 1:1 ever again (Unless large meteorite full of gold hit planet earth), it would be nice to sometimes get close to 13:1, so we could trade the silver for "cheap" gold
  18. Another rare occasion when it was 1:1 Shame it's 79:1 today
  19. Any other time periods when silver was more valuable than gold? Or, at least a ratio closer to 1:1?
  20. I was listening to a podcast about Tutankhamen the other day and one thing really surprised me is that Ancient Egyptians valued "white metal" (silver) more than gold. Apparently gold was considered to be the skin of the ancient Egyptian gods, but their bones were thought to be of silver. Temple inscriptions suggest that for much of Egypt’s history, silver was valued more highly than gold. However, unlike gold, which is known to have been brought from the Eastern Desert and Nubia, the sources of silver were scarce locally and was imported from far away lands such as Asia Minor. Silver was much closer in value to gold in Ancient Egypt compared to other ancient cultures (1:2 instead of the more typical 1:13), and there were periods when it was considered even more valuable.
  21. Man I'm getting old; 2005 seems like a life time away 😥
  22. You got all bases covered; Gold, silver, tin, etc. What's the most exotic metal you have? (BTW Your avatar - It's from a film?)
  23. They spoil every hobby; Be it PS5, retro gaming, coin collecting, etc.
