  1. This is a really valid point that I'd somehow missed. They really are no longer any better than Westminster, Danbury, Tower, et all. And not a patch on the old Pobjoy. Government backed profiteering. Actually, none of the unofficial 'inferior' mints could get away with such shoddy work. I once saw a collection of Westminster coins, all copper plated with gold and/or silver. Tacky? Yes. Poor quality? No. They were all "mint" (in what used to be the true meaning of the word). Maybe these days when describing a used car as being in "mint condition" we ought to be describing the fact that it is dented, scratched, and has been quickly tarted up to achieve a vastly inflated price.
  2. Well, all pennies minted from 1967 were dated 1967 regardless of the actual year. The 'New Pence' minted from 1971 of course. So that explains to a degree why there's so many of that date, but, why mint that many? that's another matter, no idea sorry. Probably a money making scam for the rich.
  3. These are 19.6g of 22ct gold, over 1/2ozt of pure, per coin. Beautifully presented. £4,219 INCLUDING Royal Mail Special Delivery BUT this only covers up to £2,500. Not sure what else can be done?
  4. Hopefully the photo's do all the talking. £1,170 including Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  5. Has it's original Royal Mint screw capsule and fold-out cert. No box. Please note, there is hazing present, I have made no attempt to remove or clean in any way. @GoldDiggerDave could probably sort this out. £290 INCLUDING Royal Mail Special Delivery postage.
  6. 16 in a tube is really weird though. I'd expect 10, 15, 20, etc
  7. I'd prefer a tube that was the right size though. And card not plastic. Yes, that would be nice.
  8. I want the South African Crown. Gizzit, go on.
  9. My mistake, I was using 1,750,000 which is 1.75 million of course, not billion. 😧 Yes, the figure would come out at $27,215.58c per ozt.
  10. You don't say what currency the 1,750,000 (using an American billion) is in, but at 32,150.7ozt per metric tonne, then a mere 27.215 'somethings' per troy ounce. $27 for an ounce of gold? Nah... I assume we're not talking of a traditional British Billion, as if so, my calculator hasn't enough digits to work that out.
  11. Prices held. Now look very cheap compared to spot!

  14. If it's any help, the girl in our local takeaway told me the mark that looks like "50g" means the bar weighs fifty grammes. Amazing how they do it.
  15. I wonder how these pushers get paid. Percentage bonus perhaps?
  16. Have you done a chart of how many TV licences an ounce of gold could buy through the years?
  17. £8 per round, what the heck are you firing, Silver .50 cal Werewolf rounds?
