Lets wait and see what's actually happens with the BRICS summit first. Are they really going to announce a new gold back currency now? Maybe later? Maybe never? How will it be set up if they do announce it? Will it be 100% gold backed or just partially backed? Will it have the option to exchange for physical or will it just be pegged?

Nothing to see here though. This movement is due to the sudden drop in the pound. Gold has hardly moved in other currencies today.

Will the bail-ins only steal 20% of your savings by the end of all the widespread bank crashes have finished collapsing in a few years time though? Only time will tell but I have my doubts and think it could end up being much more than 20% for many people.

With the whole banking system looking like it's on the verge of collapsing at the moment I personally wouldn't touch an ISA with a barge pole at this particular point in time. But it's up to you if you're willing to take the risk of loosing it all by putting it in an ISA and getting 'bailed in' if the bank crashes.

"The science" is another hijacked phrase which has been turned political and no longer has anything to do with the actual scientific method. Hypothesis > method > experiment > results > conclusion > peer review/debate/reproduction of results etc. You know, all that useful stuff kids used to get taught in schools before they were turned into woke indoctrination camps by Marxists.

Such an apt description! Much better than the ‘bougie broke’ hashtag doing the rounds on social media at the moment. (The Urban Dictionary website defines ‘bougie broke’ as the state of being in “constant danger of maxing out cards or being broke for real” but being so spoiled “you cannot tell yourself no” – especially for “little treats”)

Hopefully yeah. Potentially quite likely too. That said I sleep easy at night knowing most of my wealth is safe in gold rather than gambling on crypto.
