  1. You pretty much need to do that in this game too. That's why so many people just follow charts, takes the emotion out of it. Personally I am never looking to sell at the top and just like taking regular profit (in fiat). I am finding I need to take better records now (on the crypto front) as regulations are getting tougher on exchanges and all automated. https://dailyhodl.com/2023/11/11/nearly-50-jurisdictions-partner-to-enable-automatic-info-exchange-between-crypto-trading-firms-and-tax-agencies/
  2. Cheers bud sound advice. I had a hell of a time in the beginning but think I needed to go through that so I can figure out what's going on. Enjoying it now tho. Keep us posted on how easy it is to buy PM's with crypto. It's also another good insight into the space.
  3. Unfortunately I know no one that collects gold and silver. Actually no one I know has crypto either. Most just do ISAs and shares. I am not sure we will ever get to the point of bartering but will need to be paid some how.
  4. In a extreme scenario a man would swap his Porsche for a glass of water if needed but gold not needed until later.
  5. The closest I have found with this is aabb token. Issued by a mining company so essentially buying from source. https://aabbgoldtoken.com/
  6. Still need a wallet, a device to use the wallet, a exchange to send the coins from and the chain itself.
  7. What's the smallest gold coin you can buy with an alloy in it? Half sov? Do you think they would make a quarter sov?
  8. I currently have a hefty bag of sh*t coins that I am hoping to one day turn in to a bag of gold. It's a bit of a lottery but quite fun learning something new.
  9. Me personally? The topic of conversation is about how to prevent scammers but I will answer regardless. No, not really everyone has been lovely, I sold something once that got flagged up by my bank (wasn't the persons bank account). Ive had an item turn up with scratches (not like photo). I don't trade to the volume of other members and I have previously highlighted why and my goto is eBay. I have done two trades in the last two months on here and 15 on eBay and would be nice for it to be the other way round. In the time I've been here I can remember 3 scammers and they were all operating in the same way. They sell legitimately to trusted sellers then take someone unsuspecting for a wedge. @Ukbullionfan @Barbielovesgold @SilverSells So where does common sense come into here? Look at feedback? To me it is pretty obvious it will happen again and whenever anyone suggest anything different the posts get bombarded from the OG's of the forum defending it till the end. It's like a shut up it works for me message. As for quoting terms and conditions. How many of the people that have been scammed do you think have sat down and read the terms and conditions? Do you read every one on every website you visit?
  10. Nicely put Roy but there are not many 1950s around anymore. I have to drive down my street at 20mph because some twa*t decided to get run over. I can't take drugs anymore because some people go skitso and try and stab everyone. Like it or not it's the way the UK operates now. Common sense is no longer an option and we all have to work to the lowest common denominator this includes buyer, sellers, scammers and scammed.
  11. The scammer that this tread is referring to scammed at least 4 members I think. None of those 4 members have left trading feedback. The only member that did leave trading feedback had nothing to do with the transaction. How is that a good indication on how trusted a member is?
  12. Yes makes sense. That's why I said a blue tick verified users. Everyone with a blue tick has gone through verification to help buyers decide. All the rest can carry on using forum as normal.
  13. I don't know. Made sense when I wrote it
  14. What about like twitter, or X. A blue tick next to a verified user. Then it gives everyone the option.
  15. If you are a monthly paying premium member then the address and bank account should tally up shouldn't it? Maybe that's enough.
  16. Yes I do remember that vid, I will have another look. Might also have a look at polishing it out.
  17. There are tons of videos on how to remove scratches from 925 silver. I am assuming 999 is a lot softer so the same method may be too much. Anyone done this? I have a piece that has a few, it's just a round and would like to smarten it up a little.
  18. I don't think anyone is saying anything bad about the forum but there are over 21,000 members here and 700 are premium paying members. Surely some constructive discussion about members thoughts is a good thing with a view of boosting confidence and essentially boosting the numbers.
  19. You are trusted because you are an active participant in the community and the way you conduct yourself. Feedback is a worry for me as I said before. I don't think I've seen anyone with negative feedback on here and if I was not happy with something I would just not leave any (eBay as well).
  20. Oh, I will have to re-try it. It was a few years back and I remember them stopping me selling a load of half crowns.
  21. The weird thing about Facebook (correct me if I am wrong) is they don't let you sell coins on the market place but it's ok on the forums.
  22. Pretty much how vinted works (my new favourite app). You still have to build a rep but the money stays in the holding account until everyone is happy. Takes having to trust out of the sale
  23. Top sellers undercut the main dealers by about £5. If you were to undercut the main sellers by another £5 then surly it would eventually go.
