  1. Seen it time and time again with dealers even if it is above spot price or spot price they still say it is priced wrong The only time I have ever seen a dealer honour their price was bleyer last year on a 2023 sov I think
  2. Can't mate or I will get banned, I'm trying to keep membership alive
  3. Don't worry the living wage is going up in April next year you can get a bag of tangy toms
  4. Head up complaints and investigations for an entire NHS health board in special measures lol 🤣
  5. Who too every bugger has bought one lol
  6. Your gonna end up with the 50p lol
  7. Fair point Great stuff all thanks for contributing interesting discussion to me anyway Yup if you flip 5 your up 100 quid or more Better than I do lol
  8. Without doubt if you sell now if not make a small profit I maybe weird well I know I am but my salary is 85k a year not sure why the hourly rate is but say £40 an hour something like that I occasionally get consultancy work at £500 a day so always consider my time as worth something I spend 5 mins wrapping , 40 mins back and two to the post office, and so on That profit is lost in time, Done a few research papers over the years on time on motion and people don't really see time as a cost Hance for me sometimes I take a small loss balancing this against my time I think some of the 5g went for 270, 275 so say 20 quid more that's half an hour of time Interests me all this
  9. What if spot drops ? But again what if we go to the moon If it drops does it become a liability but interestingly if it mooned does it become a liability i.e unliquid if it say doubled in 12 months I suppose every asset will face the same issues ime if property doubled no one would buy or sell
  10. Apologies all for my spelling I'm dyslexic so struggle a little
  11. Again genuine question Were you after a 1g Christmas bar? For 63.99 ? as in I have been looking for one for ages Or was it the discount which motivated you Also if one was advertised today a 1g Christmas bar for say 63.98 would you have bought on the forum
  12. Fair point , I suppose what I'm getting at is if they were sitting on gold bought from say 2010 to pick a random year They have won haven't they and grabbed all the money at the all time high so we haven't beat them just fell for the bait 🪤 under the guise of bargain spot, with the bargain spot being nearly all time high I have been looking at the black Friday sales for example at H and T pawnbrokers, they have a 20 per cent of watch mega event, thing is the watches have gone up 20 per cent in price, but I bet people will think I have got a bargain with the reduction whilst h and t move on a thousand watches they have sat on and no one who bought one had the intention of buying watch other than they thought I have a. Good deal at 20 per cent Smart business
  13. Genuine question Say if a 50g bar came up on the forum at spot how many would have jumped to buy it? As in the case of say people buying 10 x 5g bars I get their more liquid, bit I'm just curious whoever has say 5k in the bank why there has been a mass wave of purchasing There been loads of bars listed say a tenner more 20g, 10g, 5g and so on what made people but the trigger as in a must have Seems a lot to spend say 2-5k in some cases to save say 50 quid The other issue of course if forum knowledge that everyone knows what it was bought for so the psychology is then hard to pay more of that makes sense if one were to sell when they get their credit card bill through Just genuinely interested in the psychology of it all as in people who have never considered a bar walloping 6k on them in 20 minutes I bet if two 5g bars come up at say 52. Gram they would sit for ages on the forum Is it genuinely fomo Or are we the stupid ones, i.e the mint have been sitting on gold kilos from years ago and pumped them out at close to all time high and everyone has bit ? Whilst we are think they are stupid and we got a bargain
  14. I suppose always try and come to the forum first even if I have to make a loss as believe in the community aspect as such I like that For me If I enjoy something for a year such as a watch and lose 50 quid so be it, sometimes I make 50 quid so it balances out I do try and offer things shipwreck, ancients, nice pieces different from the norm but I guess sometimes people just want the pound and pence best value which is also ok to Me personally I would rather pay up a few quid for design, quality, that kind of thing
  15. Good exposure forum can only help
  16. Good result yes and no I made 75 quid on the watch I paid 825 and owned it for 6 months out part exd the 900 against another piece I know the jeweller he made wedding rings and many other things for me which helps i.e spent thousands with him and he is an independent guy with one shop.on north Wales the rings yes I sold them on for more than here but at a small loss from what I paid The jeweller will simply take the diamond out polish remount and sell on a platinum band etc for significantly more money The diamond alone was at least worth 300 Raw without the 18ct gold
  17. It's a lovely watch mate would love to own it but skint unless you take a credit card
