We go live to the race track for a major update!
In lots 5 and 6, @Moocher has taken the lead away from @ArgentSmith. Don't count @ArgentSmith out yet, we have all seen the power of the matrix!
@KRO makes a dastardly move to take lead in Lot 2, ahead of our previous newcomer and champion @bobski!
Over in Lots 6 and 7 we have tactics and taunts! A major battle is developing! @Fenlander1is launching broadside after broadside and is thus far managing to keep ahead of the competition. @MagnusOpum is keeping pace, though. He looks calm and collected, his breath a mere whisper in the wind! Our early leader, @James32 is nowhere to be seen! Has he been sunk or is he collecting his reserves for a major assault! Only time will tell!
 
Breaking news! @Jaconet has broken cover and makes a strong entrance, taking a massive lead in Lots 6 and 7! Can any of the chasing pack even match this new contender's energy? At £22.50 per coin it's all to play for as we move into the final days of this incredible race!

Exciting developments from the race track!

In Lot 7, @James32 made a surprise bid and took the lead from @Fenlander1, showing who's boss. Is there some history between these two?
But, in high drama, @ArgentSmith slipped out of the matrix and took a commanding lead on Lots 5 and 6, taking out @Solachesis and @scotwasp in a single attack! Meanwhile, @James32 is biding his time, waiting for the right moment to strike back!
A new contender, @simoncsj, has quietly taken the lead in Lot 1, showing much potential. Keep an eye on this one, folks!
Just when we thought @ArgentSmith was going to race away with Lots 5 and 6, @MagnusOpum revealed his strategy and forced his way to the front in Lots 6 and 7. With such fierce competition, @James32 looks to be in trouble!
And in another surprise move, @KRO entered the race in Lot 2 and stole the lead from @bobski.

Dramatic events down on the race track! It's anyone's race at this point, all to play for!

The forum keeps crashing for me so I hope I'm not behind on anyone else's bid for these two lots! 

The sun is shining bright and the course is looking perfect for today's leg of the race! It's all to play for as we enter the mid-week phase of this gruelling week long auction!
The bidding begins with Lot 1, and @silvergaga takes an early lead with a bid of £111. But wait, @bobski is hot on their heels with a bid of £220 for Lot 2! @Becca and @Steve62 join the race with their bids for Lots 3 and 4, both at £22.00 per coin. @Solachesis takes the lead with a bid of £550 for Lot 5, but @scotwasp and @James32 come out of nowhere with identical bids of £1105 for Lot 6 and Lot 7, respectively, at £22.10 per coin!
Who will come out on top in this auction frenzy? Stay tuned to find out!

On the 23rd March, it will be 3 months since I joined this forum.
I have decided as a thank you to all the members who have bought from me or have done a swap with me, this is a free competition for you.
The rules are very simple and costing you nothing but a little thinking and some luck. 
All you have to do is predict what the spot price of silver in $ to be 23rd March at 9pm when US Markets close. Who ever is closest in cents above or below the closing price will be the winner of the 1oz silver coin. I will be using bullionbypost.co.uk price at 9pm to get the final closing price.
To make it fair for members who post their price first, the cut off will be 9pm Friday 17th March. Any prediction after this will not be valid. Think carefully as each member will only have one chance and no editing is allowed. Your first prediction is the only valid entry.

Looks like it, yes. You're never reacting the silver itself just generating aluminium oxide and sulfur at the cost of the silver that's tarnished. 
The takeaway being to avoid storing or handling silver around anything that gives off sulfur gases I guess.
