Chris, you need to pounce quicker on SS.
I don't have spare funds at the moment for unplanned purchases
I need to sell a few things soon, I.e a few £20 coins so that I can buy some nice coins I am after.
-
Awesome purchase dan! One set I wouldn't mind completing if I stumble upon a deal like you did.
-
I will try to get all kookaburras without the privus, both proof and BU´s, round and square capsules.
but some of them are a bit expensive tho, so might take a while
That's sounds like a nice collection!
-
What mint produced these?
These are Perth Mint lunar series 1
2oz Proofs.
-
That's pretty cool. Gold doesn't tarnish does it?
Sovereigns are only 22carat though. So I expect some older sovs will suffer some moderate discolouring.
-
I've been looking into getting the Kookaburra high reliefs - only started in 2012 so, only three to get so far!
I went a bit mad and am currently in the process of sourcing all of the Perth Mint high relief coins from various places. (kookaburra, kangaroo, koala, lunar) I don't know how well they will do as an investment, but I want to collect them all
These high relief series are still quite young, so they will probably grow with popularity over time.
I like the silver kangaroos, gives you a chance to buy some low priced roos (opposed to collecting the expensive gold versions!)
-
A one ounce high relief Kangaroo.
Amazing design, smaller diameter but thicker with concave mirror - like faces.
I've started collecting the high reliefs as well. They look amazing in the photos and in vids. I haven't seem any of mine in person yet. But I am hoping they are just as stunning!

Yesterday I bought a 2014 elephant with horse privy, and a lunar series 2 ox

Shamatti, I would recommend blacking out your plate number
I've just done it for you. Using a free app called 'You Doodle'

I remember those Tokelau coins from another forum. Someone pointed out that it looks like one horse is head butting the other.

Moved the thread to general precious metals
nice air-tites, I will have to order some at some point.
Would be awesome if there was a UK supplier of the air-tites, hint hint Klacey

I thought this would be an interesting follow up to the "today I bought...." thread.
When you receive your order you can post a pic in this thread a kind of photo unboxing.
Unfortunately I am out of the UK at the moment, but I will be back in a month so then I have a whole year of small silver purchases that I can take a few snaps of and upload here.
In the meantime hopefully some other members will be able to upload some pics here soon......

Nice I need to start that as well, after I have completed the Lunar series 2.Now the kookaburra set is completed........
Today I bought a 2009 1oz BU koala, I'm a quarter of the way to a full date set now (only got the 2014 and the 2009). There are only 8 released so far.

1 roll of 2014 Britannia's, cheaper than I could have bought them from CoinInvest, and two Rand year of the horse bars.
Pretty Pleased.
Cheers
K
Nice!
Coininvest prices seem expensive now because of tax. You should check out their sister company silver-to-go.com who have better pricing, though less choice.
-
Had them off a mate, but ESB would only be about £19 I think if paid by BT.
ESB prices are a bit expensive in my opinion. If ordering 1 or 2 coins at a time then its ok. They have a good range, and a lot of different coins. But ordering larger amounts it's a little bit expensive. I made an order with them recently, for some privy kooks and then regretted it a bit when I realised that I could have got a slightly better deal from APMEX even if would have got hit with import tax.
-
That's not bad. Where did you order from?Yes, I thought so. £18 each delivered, all thanks to a surprise mule.
-
Well the timber wolf, even with spots, seems to be doing just fine.
It was those, maples of phillys so I went for the falcon.
That's 7 I have now.
from the 3, definitely the best choice.
-
We shall see mate, just grabbed some more falcons off a mate with the mule money so I'm spent up till next week.
Maybe.....
I only have 1 of those falcons. I don't like this milk spot issue. But maybe they will do very well and people won't care about milk spots.

Strenue, ace kooks.
I'm going to go for the full date set I think, now where do I start!!!
Same, although my bullion purchases will take priority over expensive old kooks, so will probably take me a log time. I recon I could pick up a few old kooks here and there for ok prices over the next few years or so.
I bet Danny aces a full date set in next to no time.
-
Just the 2013 Somali elephant.
I don't do colourised and have all the others.
+1 for the disklike of coloured coins
-
Is that a landed price mate?
May I ask how many need to be bought to achieve a price like that?
It's the unit cost before shipping and bank charges. Shipping starts at £15.
-
Purchased some libertads from silver to go, I normally prefer semi numi purchases but these were around £15.50 an ounce. Couldn't resist the low prices.
Today I Received.....

Nice purchase Morezone, I ended up not buying any crocodiles, bought the graded horse instead.
That RAM roo looks nice! But they are pretty expensive considering it's just a BU coin. I presume they don't have a low mintage either, as mintage is not listed on the EMK site? If mintage was 10k like the stock horse I would have bought one at those prices.
The combibar is pretty cool, would be an awesome way to pay for things in silver!
