If stacking bullion I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with full, half or quarter sovereigns. The key is the premium. If it’s reasonable than they’re likely good value regardless of their size. I believe there’s a case for halves and maybe even quarters over the longer term as a more affordable coin for the masses and thus a more broad future audience but as those wiser than I have said before, you make your money when you’re buying. Low premium is the key if purely stacking

Quarters aren't worth, unless you're a collector and want the set, too much premium, probably because of lack of demand and some dealers don't even stock them because of that.

I looked into them when I first started because I had a very low budget but changed my mind and decided that I was better off buying a half every other month, I still ended up buying a couple because at that point I was curious and I wanted them, I think that was Summer 2022; I don't regret the purchase and they are a happy memory as they are my first two gold coin, but I haven't bought one since. The ability to sell must be considered and, if people don't want them from a dealer because they are too dear, they wouldn't want them from me for the same reason.

These days I buy either halves or full, depends on the income that month.

I don't buy quarters for the reasons stated above and I don't buy doubles or quin because I don't see reasons in saving for one of them, I prefer to purchase monthly when I get the money in.

Very fair points but only picking up quarters on occasion, when they’re under/up to £100. If I can get a pair for £200 or a half for £195, I’m comfortable with the extra fiver 👍🏼

Well, best of luck, they're not an easy find... I would say that is more a stroke of luck than a regular finding, you would probably need to follow regularly and be able to buy at will, for average Joe buying once a month after getting paid I really don't see many quarters coming at those prices.
