1999 £5 gold Diana Crown

Recommended Posts

Is the 1999 £5 Diana memorial coin a quintuple sovereign?

Also, are the gold £2 coins, (eg Marconi, the one like a football etc) double sovereigns or just a gold variant of a standard coin? 🖖

No, not a quintuple sovereign. They are 5 Pound Sterling gold coins with a slightly bigger diameter than quintuple sovereigns.

The 2 Pound Sterling gold coins you mentioned were issued also as part of the Sovereign proof sets on their years.

The Diana coins is typically regarded more as gold crown, but does sell for a premium in top grade and is quite sought after.

The others you mention are typically seen as gold £2 and not really part of the sovereign series.

Thank you, I am trying to sort and categorise 🖖
