PUSH notifications on IOS for web apps - including TSF

The latest version of IOS (iPhone software) 16.4 supports push notifications for web apps, and should theoretically push notifications directly to your iPhone.

1. You will need to save TSF as a web app first. To do this press on this button in the screenshot below and press ‘Add to Home Screen’

TSF will then be saved to your Home Screen and appear like any other app:

2. Open the web app and login. Whilst within the TSF web app, press on the burger menu, too right button. Then press the notification bell and then ‘notification settings’ then go through the settings and enable inline + push on the notifications that you want. Example:

You should then theoretically get push notifications even if the web app isn’t open, they should appear like notifications in your notification stream. Note that I am unsure how long the web app will currently keep you signed in before signing you out for security reasons. The push notifications system should improve over future updates of forum software and device software.

Example notifications on Apple Notification Centre on iPhone:

Note that you can also hit the bell icon and the ‘notification settings’ button in any browser that supports push notifications to enable push. Such as in chrome on a desktop or laptop computer. You will need to enable push notifications on each browser independently.
