hello everyone I'm trying to identify a date from this hallmark but there are several years assisned to the date letter ( as it is not very clear) but I think this is from 1906 or around that time. Any help with this would be much appreciated thank you

This is because there are only 26 letters in the alphabet, although not all are alwyas used, so they go in cycles.

You need to find the same typeface / font, and sometimes the cartouche shape matters.

Dates letters can vary between assay offices.

The UK Assay Offices have website which will probably answer most question about date letters, and other stuff.

It is always snesible to rotate photos so are more easily readable, without getting a crick in the neck.
