It's happened to all of us at one point.

It's late, you're in for the evening and decide to enjoy a bit of casual ebay browsing. As always the the focus of the hunt is silver so you type in a few key words, click a few listings, shuffle through the usual menagerie of over priced coins and all of the sudden there it is. The item you never knew existed but now simply must have. As a seasoned silver stacker you know that discipline is key. You've got a plan. You've got a goal. But for what ever reason in this moment all that falls by the way side to fulfill this sudden impulse.

Buy it now.

A few days pass and the package arrives. You dig into the box, un-wrap the wrappings, and hold up your prize to bask in all of it's glory. But alas, disappointment....

I recently picked up this "treasure" and upon receiving it, instantly regretted my decision.

It's a sterling silver commemorative plate from the franklin mint 1973. Image depicts and American prospector (which I thought would make a great compliment to my collection of Engelhard prospector silver rounds) Weight is 11.75 Troy oz. Fineness .925 diameter 200mm (8 inches) Price paid =$305 USD

I am planning on returning the item, but thought it might be fun to ask the opinion of the forum. Do you like the piece? Would you pay what I paid? Have you ever purchased silver items that are not akin to the rest of your silver stack?
