The fierce and triumphant Red Dragon features on the first release in the exciting new Mythical Dragons coin collection struck in 2oz pure silver. Well known for its defeat of the White Dragon in old English mythology, the Red Dragon is a symbol of the Britons’ victory over the Saxons.

Reverse

This silver coin artistically illustrates the magnificently coloured Red Dragon in battle against the White Dragon. They are pictured amongst engraved images of King Vortigern, his advisers and a young Merlin.

Obverse

These features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Country of Issue – Niue.

Not normally one for coloured or part coloured coins but that's very nice...do love a dragon.

I'm with you on that.... Coloured coins really aren't my thing but this is an exception to that. Very very nice coin and I love the story behind it. It's Merlin's origin story and the reason the Welsh flag has the red dragon on it. Silver has so many uses... Education is another one lol.
