Indian Head $2.50 - Fake ?

Recommended Posts

Hi, i wonder how i can get this coin checked out ? An Indian head coin are notoriously faked coins i understand. The size and weight is correct and it passed a simple gold test on my mobile app. What intrigues me is a tiny dent (perfectly round) on the reverse . After watching a Youtube video a guy points out a similar dent on a fake and said it was a sure giveaway.  I removed it from eBay as i would be horrified to pass on a fake.  Any experts out there on US coins ?

Thank you for your reply . The lack of replies makes me think you're correct. US coins are a minefield. I bought it at a antique fair in Gateshead years ago, an impulse buy . I am strictly a Sovereign man from now on. Whilst there are fake sovereigns about , at least they can me spotted in the main. I finally sold it as seen , for a discount price. Whilst i couldn't guarantee the authenticity , i did a weight, magnet , size, and gold test on an app and all seemed OK so both seller and buyer came to an agreement .
