UK Coronavirus Tax Relief for Home Working

Hello all,

Just in case people weren't aware the UK government have set up a micro-site to allow anyone working from home for at least 1 day during the Coronavirus pandemic (i.e. 22nd March 20202 onwards) to claim a years worth of home working tax relief at £6 a week for the whole of 2020-21.  You can also claim for the last 2 weeks of 2019-20.  It works out at about £126  in your pocket for higher rate tax payers - so not a huge amount but would at least get you a cheeky gold quarter sov or four ounces of silver with a little change at the moment. 🙂

There are various conditions e.g.  if you do a self assessment tax return you can't use the  microsite  to apply and you need to set up your government gateway ID if you don't already have one.
