Hello all,

Bit of a new comer to collecting coins - got some Britannia's, Maples, Krugerrand's,  bars, and as of today took receipt of a golden half sovereign i  recently i just bought from BullionByPost.

The coin is quite old (1982) and i just wanted to ask a quick question from you all as you have much more knowledge than i do!

The coin im assuming due to its age has black spots and marks all over it, is this normal? what is it?

I have a 1980 Proof Half that’s spotty- the 1980’s were a decade of spots- my acne was terrible back then...

Your links don’t work, so I cannot see the Sov, but No need to worry, here’s what NGC says, there’s an informative article on the Chards old website too, but I cannot find it right now
