First the bad news: Apple do not currently support web notifications in Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) however, hopefully and most likely, they will do sometime in the future. I believe (although can't confirm, as I don't have an Android phone) that web notifications are possible on an Android device, so if you are adding the TSF web app to an android phone you may be able to get notifications from TSF sent directly to your phone. 

The web app is however very useful on IOS to access TSF and it will also remember your last page you were on, as well as keep you signed in.

Steps to add The Silver Forum web app.

1. Open up the forum website in your Safari browser, then click the icon shown in the screen shot below.

2. Scroll across and find "Add to Home Screen" and then press it

3. Press Add

4. The TSF web app will be saved to your home screen

5. Click on the TSF app, the first time you click it you will be taken to the login page and asked to login, Sign in.

You now have a full screen app and will be logged in anytime you click the TSF web app. Now each time you open the app again you will be taken to the last page you were on. You can go to the main forum home page anytime by clicking on the forum logo.
