I bought a group of 120 Barber half dollars on a auction last week. No dates were given just a bulk lot. I paid 13 times face for them with $12 shipping. I will buy this type of lots if the price is not to high just for the fun of searching for better dates. This group was a good lot as I got 21 better coins. There was a 1897-s in ag to good, 1913 P,  and 1895-s, 1896, 1898-o and a few more. Last year I bought 200 standing liberty quarters from a dealer for $3 each. In that group was 2-1927-s, a1919 and 4 type one's. Give buying bulk lots atry, it is fun!!!!

Months ago I bought a lot of 48 Mexican 10 pesos, 1956, all at least AU condition.  Got them for $500, or a bit over $10 each.  That was a great deal.

Great advice - sometimes the fun is in the not knowing!!

I wish I lived in America sometimes - the UK is beautiful for v. old coins but sometimes I look online at the US market place and wish I was there. The recent 19th and 20th century silver that can be gotten at good prices is amazing! I would love to be able to buy more Peace Dollars and good quality halves.

Thanks for sharing this.

Andrew.
