I have a ring here with the stamp cpb then a lion. A leopards face and the letter X I believe. Can you confirm? I am slightly unsure because the date seems to be 1997 and cpb who I belive to be Charles penny brown was mostly Birmingham based when the rings says London? The maker seems to be from the early 20th century. Its all very mysterious. Could you help?

I suspect the CPB is not the same CPB from the early 20th century

You can see on this site that the CPB of that maker has not indented into a background so it is not the same maker.

You should have a chat with the london assay office to see if they can assist in identifying the maker.
