Disgraceful Replica Sales

Hi - no problem at all.

As per my post it is a real pain in the butt now with so many counterfeit coins being injected into the market.

One thing is for sure - the counterfeits will keep getting better. 😞

Hopefully my eyes can keep up with them.🤪.

I  issued the refund today and the 1886 did indeed, did weigh over at 27.1 grams20180908_160458.thumb.jpg.37c17925ab990e212d331916e34bf7c7.jpg20180908_160508.thumb.jpg.368c6578081673fd18016df63d10d19c.jpg27.1. I have new photos to perhaps help others spot these, is there a database for counterfeit morgans?

I am looking now at seven morgans that my mother in law😳 had stashed away.  I am weighing them and doing the ping/slide test  One (below)1891-o)is very sketchy, looks completely wrong and 2 others weigh under the max specs according to internet lore. Maybe have a look and let me know if you have any opinions? Thanks every one for helping. On another note, is the specific gravity for coins 10.0 ? I can only find sterling and .999 SG's. Cheers everyone!

Ty

These are the three that weigh light, should I be concerned? The one 1891 looks very fake.

The weights seem sporadic and all my coin weigh  slightly different.

Thank you again! :):)

Hello and sorry about the photo flood :) Newbie at large here. I remain unsure as I consider my coins. Do you folks think that a pcgs coin that is slabbed will protect me from this issue? How common are slabs fake and are they all on a central database?

My new coins fall under weight at .1,.7 and.3 under the max variation that I hear is 26.63.? I am picturing coins without dates and such. Are there exceptions? These 3 actually came from an old man stash via my mother in law. They all ping and slide correctly. One looks completely strange with no ear detail or eyelids yet- it is mirror like? I am baffled and these have got to be at least 10 -15 years stored. If they were that good at fakes then I am concerned that by now a replica may be undetectable by and large. I am a morgan man and love the design and feel of them. I also very much like the American history during these years. Hoping to learn more.

My respect and regards,

Ty
