Hungarian Dukats

Does anyone have any experience of these? They look to be an interesting piece about as much gold as a half sovereign.

There are modern restrikes of the 1915 coin, anyone know if there's a way to distinguish restrikes from genuine 1915 pieces?

I think the originals trade for 7-8 times the restrikes to be honest. Nice coins, almost half sov in size, nice detail.

Are you referring to the Austrohungarian Ducat or the Hungarian Ducat?

The Austrian Ducat(s) have been officially reminted with their last year of issue (1915 in the case of the 1 and 4 Ducat and the 20 and 100 Corona) (the 10 Corona gets reminted as 1912 and the 4 and 8 Florin as 1892).

Anything older will not be "new" gold.

The Hungarian Korona are reminted as 1892 and 1895 (10 and 20 Korona) or 1908 (100 Korona).

Anything older or younger in respect to the 10 and 20 Korona) or younger (in respect to the 100 Korona) will not be "new" gold.

The Hungarian Dukat has been issued as 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 1, 2, 5 and 10 Dukats and has not been reminted, as far as I am aware.

I hope that makes sense
