  1. That's great, thanks! I think I'll just leave them for now & see how they tarnish with time. It does add character to coins in my opinion, my only concern is if I want to sell them in the future, the toning might put people off.
  2. I might in the future remove them from packaging. I don't mind the tarnishing when it's uniform, it just looks a little odd only one half tarnished. This method of dips in baking soda, would you recommend a YT video to see how this is done, please?
  3. Just noticed tarnishing on some of my Rwanda Nautical series. In the photo on the right half, you can see the tarnishing/toning. I thought with them been sealed they wouldn't suffer with this. I have also noticed tarnishing on 2 other coins in this series. Has anyone else noticed this?
  4. Shaun Oliver has a Double Eagle for sale on Facebook (Backthemetal). He's asking £1600, which I think is a fair price, spot + 3% (inc. postage) I've never bought pre-33 American coins before so I'm a little wary about parting with my money. I've attached some pics that Shaun sent me. What do you think? I would prefer a nicer example & wouldn't mind paying more for a graded coin, but for the price, I'm tempted.
  5. Any news on the release of Seymour Panther (Bullion)?
  6. She needs to be curled up inside with a cup of cocoa
  7. I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, i just thought it was very strange & suspicious.
  8. This ebay listing for the new Sovereign is below rrp. Why would a seller do this when they could just return it to the Royal Mint? Is it a scam? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125619251857?hash=item1d3f7daa91:g:36MAAOSwiDZjd7lo&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoDR3m2IX9iz37iMcunFJa3R6b0vUqV2QEq1sllgtmS%2FwJOYYlF9uvwB2dcbNKvTcUIVUgKfI29H8hg0OCNX3BzyV0%2FjkMzH2f%2FWnqRH5xhH92dfa4od5XFUPqNWivd7gpD%2BSG6OlNCy7GAsvZKDjATq6jdwvWZbO39%2FU4LBG9FytZiz9LLCSmd%2FXwxnNcxztfv6SY5ICTLLXtHm1wqRpPzA%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9CCz_STYQ
  9. Can you get in the queue before 9am, is there a link that the R.M. emails you?
  10. Is this coin currently listed on Atkinsons a good price? https://atkinsonsbullion.com/gold/gold-coins/other-gold-coins/pre-owned-1989-uk-5-brilliant-uncirculated-gold-c
  11. I received an email from Royal Mint today:
  12. I did a quick mockup showing one of the beasts with its shield as on original coin. As you can see there's definitely not the room to accommodate the shield on the 1oz coin for all of the beasts.
  13. I feel the need to be be slightly critical about this coin. I can almost hear the conversations in the Royal Mint Marketing Department when they were discussing their next money-making scheme. The phrase 'give 'em what they've already got' springs to mind when they were discussing the design. Don't get me wrong, as a stand alone coin it's very nice, especially in the larger sizes, 5/10 oz. It seems to me the coin is gimmicky when compared to the other coins in the Queen's Beast series. What does everyone else think?
  14. I agree, I have both Ag & Au in nice display boxes from Alun. I really wanted the 5oz or 10oz silver proof. I think the design is too small on the 1oz.
