  1. Hello, I am somewhat out of the loop at the moment having been hospitalised. I am still looking for a Perth Mint 1 kg. silver lunar coin or preferably a Panda. The only 1 Kg coins I can find are with Atkinsons at a price of £879. Do you think that this is a good deal? The premium seems high? I should also like advice on the sale of a boxed set of 10 Oz Queens Beasts ( 10 coins no completer) and a date run of 10 oz Koalas (2008-2015) Thanks , Frank
  2. It's only 10, I'm afraid! Frank
  3. I am selling the remainder of my Silver as follows:- Queens Beasts boxed 10 oz set (circa £3000) Date run of 8x10 oz Koalas 2008/2015 (circa £2000) Date run of Britannias 1997/2021 plus varieties (37 coins at say £1000) If I offer these and they are bought as sets (!!) has anyone any advice on posting these relatively high value items - I do not think Special delivery would cover them? Do the prices seem reasonable? Any help and advice would be gratefully received _ I am getting too old for trading! (84) Frank
  4. Ah well, It looks as though I will have to hold my coloured coins until the scrap value approaches what I paid (if ever!) I cannot quite understand why these lovely coins are only worth melting
  5. I have three sets of Perth Mint Lunar coloured coins (Dog ,Monkey and Goat) 10 oz 5 oz 2 oz 1 oz and 1/2oz in fitted boxes. I mentioned them for sale on the Forum but the general reaction was a bit dismissive. I sold two sets on Ebay but the costs are a bit much. I need to dispose of them by virtue of my age and lack of family interest. If there is any demand for these lovely coins I would like to know!
  6. I have 21 american eagles which are milk spotted and in cracked capsules. Is there a demand from perhaps, pourers and if so what prices would they fetch? Thank you for any advice.
  7. Thanks again everyone. I'm beginning to think that I picked this item because I like it and I felt that there could be a bit of appreciation in value, but as you say it is not really suitable for grubby fingers!
  8. Thanks Pete I've sold a lot at the current prices, but maybe you are right and I should hold off a bit. I always felt that sets were better than individual coins, but my experience indicates that you are correct. Regards# Frank

    Thanks

I do not know if this is an appropriate topic, but I would like to thank all the Forum members who have helped me (and bought!) in the disposal of a lot of my silver. I would not have managed at my age without all the support and advice. Thanks again
  10. Hello I am considering buying this coin as a gift for my new Great grand daughter. The only one I can find is marked as second quality with a few small scratches to the Queens face at £882. Should I avoid this and wait for unmarked example? Thanks Frank
  11. Thank you Any thoughts on the Britannias? Frank
  12. Hello I am working my way through selling my silver and have had excellent responses from Forum members I am a bit stuck now as I cannot find a realistic price for my set of 10 oz Queens Beasts and my date run of Britannias (1997/2021) together with all the varieties including the edge privies (13 apart from the pig.) I would not want to split the Beasts - can any help with a realistic valuation for these two lots? Any help would be appreciated. Frank
  13. On the plus side, I have just received my 10 oz Greyhound by return of post and in lovely condition. Am I just lucky?
  14. Thank you Subo It looks as though I have been caught out again on the eBay! Frank

    Hallmark Query

Hello Can anyone help in identifying this Hallmark? Thank you very much Frank
  16. Thank you everybody Frank
  17. Hello I have been looking at the RM Digigold scheme for Gold investment without the bother of handling coins Has anyone used this? Any advice or comment would be appreciated. Thank you
  18. I may be wrong but I thought that relisted items on Ebay do not qualify for the reduced fees?
  19. (I still have the coins. All that I was asking was for a fair price for these coins for sale. The reason that I put them on Ebay was to take advantage of their commission offer - my mistake. I am totally at a loss with valuations - the advice is to look at sold listings on Ebay but they tend to vary a great deal- I suppose that is case with auctions. For instance I have a full date run of Britannias including the 1997 proof (which sold between £150 and £250) together with all of the varieties apart from the Pig edge. How do I get a fair asking price? Also a full date run of American Eagles which are perhaps easier to value as bullion. The Solomon - Islands coins which prompted this post - individual coins are priced at £50 on Ebay - how do I determine a fair asking price?
  20. Thanks for all the comments. I see that you saw the eBay offers - I entered 10 lots of which only the Australian Lunar 1 & 2 sold -0 as you say last minute. The other lots were 5 separate sets of 10- 5- 2 -1 and 1/2 oz (18.5 oz) Perth Mint Lunar coloured at £550 which had watchers but no bids. Similarly there was a display box of 15 and a display box of 13 all different 1 oz bars again no bids. These have also been on the Forum as have my boxed set of 2 oz Queens Beasts - no bids on Ebay and no response from the Forum at £690 which I thought was a fair price. However the set in question is a complete set of Solomon Islands Fighting Ships I think I made a mistake in asking for a starting bid of £400 (i.e. £16 per ounce!). However no one took the offer up and I still have them, and will keep them unless I get a sensible price. I have sold quite a lot to forum members, and I am sure that those concerned would think they got the coins at reasonable prices
