No problem, I have been meaning to put up pictures but work has been crazy and after inspection I packed it back up safe. I can't feel scratches on the capsule. It is a really nice coin, but have lost faith in a company that would let a so called prestigious coin out in such a condition. Don't know if I dare open it 😬 I think I will just return it.

@SpyderHostile. I did apologise regarding your post the other day. I was genuinely confused and learnt alot from what may have seemed a stupid question to many. However as you asked.

I appreciate the advice. That is definitely food for thought. Really not impressed that they would let in out in that state in the first place. The quality control of said company must be poor as I saw it as soon as I flipped the coin over.

Today I received my first full sovereign. The IOM 1st strike, proof KC coronation coin. I was very excited about receiving the coin. However.... on inspection of the (in my opinion) stunning coin I noticed right by the nose of KCs detailed sagging face was 3 little scratches. Has any of you kind people had similar issues or could anybody advise me of the returns procedure with regards to a limited edition coin? I have tried to call the dealer, typically, they are not open on a Saturday. So was a little disappointed with that. 2nd However.... I did also receive some parcels from some members, which are all perfect.

Hello everyone, I stepped into the world of PMs about 2 weeks before joining the forum at the beginning of this month. I found TFS through a fellow member leading me here from a popular selling platform to do a deal. 🤫 Since then I have signed up as a member and can officially say I am hooked 🙈. Update- In the end, as some suggested, I went for the one I liked and got the IOM sovereign. There are a few reasons I chose this over the royal mint. • I liked the of the very limited mintage • personally, the design appealed to me more. • I can pay this off in instalments, leaving me a better budget to play with over the coming summer months. • At the present time, CGT isn't a major concern for me, yet. This being said, I appreciate all of your advice and will definitely be taking on board moving forward in the world of stacking and collecting. 😆 thanks again.

Sorry, one more question. Would trading an item eligible for cgt I have for an item that is cgt exempt, then selling that item be one possible way around it? Albeit a long winded way.

Thank you, i will take on board this and maybe go with one of the coins above instead as was not sure what would be best to go with and whether there was an advantage with the IOM one being a very limited mint, safe to say i have been swayed to stay with royal mint sovereigns for now. Jus to be sure, So a sovereign released from the royal mint is classed as legal tender and therfore cgt exempt?

I did think the same, the government is renowned for not doing what they say, lol. So are all uk sovereign classed as legal uk tender therefore not subject to capital gains?
