Not just the forum where premiums are dropping - most of the major dealers have been dropping premiums over the past few months as well. Fingers crossed it's the new normal!

Thanks 😊 and just to be clear, I'm not suggesting the entire forum should pile into gold now - I certainly won't be buying because I'm happy with my current stack in these conditions. I'm just talking about anyone who already wants to increase their holding. Cheers!

This is what's crazy though. If you want to add to your stack then now is the perfect time to buy. The price is changing constantly. That's what it does. Sometimes it's up, sometimes it's down, but if you're holding for the long term (which, let's face it, you should be) then all you should really care about is premium. Right now premiums are on the floor. When will you get a premium better than this? I understand the psychological desire to wait for a lower spot price, but what will a lower spot price mean? Higher premiums. So you end up paying the same monetary amount as you would do now anyway. And that's only if the gold price falls! What if it goes the other way? Premiums can't fall much further but the price can rise a lot! Forget the price, premium is the important thing. Not a financial advisor, just my own opinions, etc. etc.

BBP have free delivery too don't they? So defo a better option than RM for these coins. Would love a gold one but think I'll be limited to silver 50p and £5 😅

Interesting post and would definitely be concerned if everyone else was reporting the same but looks like we're OK for now. I think I'd adapt that quote to say when you're seeing it mentioned in the media (mainstream and/or social) then that's when to panic (/sell so you can buy the inevitable dip in 6 months time).
