  1. Because the edge band isn't on properly and straight you see the clear rubber block inside the capsule it's also damaged the edge band by pushing it inwards towards the face of the coin.
  2. Disappointing very disappointing. Lovely coin, edge lettering is lovely, looks the part for sure. On closer inspection when actually had time to go over the coin, it's poor to say the least.
  3. See photos attached. Band isnt even on the edge properly. Crinkled the edges of the band also. And complete split on the joint
  4. Problems with the petition crown set I've came across on closer inspection. * Edge band joint split. * Edge band off center around the blank so it sits at an angle making it slightly raised over the rim, because it's raised this in turn creates a shadow when viewed at different angles and also creates like a crinkle on excess band thats sitting higher than the rim. * Scores through the word lettering.(Behind) the lettering so was done on the band before the lettering has been added Nice coin as mentioned yesterday rewind to yesterday's posts to have a look. Those were quick photos before good inspection.
  5. Very hard to show photos. But look at the rim of the coin, the edge of the coin sits higher than the rim on obverse.
  6. Did anyone else go for the 2oz Gold, keen to hear you thoughts also. Or did anyone have a huge bank balance and go for the 5oz? Looking forward to replies. Thank you
  7. I'll reword my last statement, it's certainly worth the money, the effort and detail is fantastic. 2oz gold on release from the mint usually in the region of £5200 to £5500 and for £5800 at the higher end when you see the detail on this coin its worth the extra amount of money. Quick inspection and off to Grading.
  8. I wasn't keen. Although seeing it and the quality of the edge lettering, the fine raised detail, it's certainly high quality, much better than anticipated, for some many words in such small writing it's actually so easily read. Looking at the coin flat face on you can partially see the raised edge. It's fascinating to say the least. Much of my time has been on the edge so far, I'll be going to study in detail here shortly but it's much more attractive in person. I would say yes it's worth the money.
  9. Thanks for your help Andrew. I will certainly have a look at @artincoins this evening
  10. Silverplatinum. May I ask best place to source Canadian Coins, miss out on some special issues due to unable to order from the RCM.
  11. Silver attached on next page. Will try get more photos this evening. That's the 2oz shown. Glad the photos have helped. The gold is stunning
  12. Really pleased with the coins. Will give me something to study in details when have afew hours free. Pictures don't do nothing for the coins until you see them in person. Will try get the silvers added when next free. Good buy 👍 Hope the photos may be of help
  13. THE ROYAL MINT REMASTERS ONE OF THE RAREST COINS PRODUCED IN ITS 1,100-YEAR HISTORY – THE PETITION CROWN. As much as I'm not keen on the look, I've ordered the lot except the kilo. Will send photos upon arrival. The headline speaks for itself
  14. My opinion, it'll be a release where the design will put people off, on eye appeal alone, the coin will be judged and overlooked. Giving little importance to the history of the original so they'll pass on this release only to end up I believe in regretting not purchasing. Late bloomer ( only an opinion ) time will tell. Wouldn't rule it out yet
