  1. Hello folks! I would like to pose a question: when buying silver bullion, is it better to focus in brands that are in the "Good Delivery" list from LBMA? Here is the list: https://www.lbma.org.uk/good-delivery/silver-current-list#- I can understand that the price for these bars is a bit higher due to the reputable mint/refinery behind the product. But what I mean is: in your opinion, are they easier to sell afterwards? Is there more demand for them in the market? Are they worth the higher premium compared to other generic bullion bars? And what other factors could make these bars a better investment? Thank you and have a great weekend!
  2. Great to meet you! after all these years without stacking gotta catch up on that silver eheh Cheers!

  4. Hello Lawrence! Hope you had a blast in Lisbon! I know the weather wasn't too welcoming but hopefully you got the chance to see the city? Thanks for this very useful website! Saved in my favorites. Cheers!
  5. Hey James! Greatly appreciated your input! In Portugal you would pay 23% VAT if bought from a vendor/dealer. But as far as I know, we don't have that many bullion dealers in our country, which is why I look to buy on second hand market mostly. Although I did find some interesting dealers in Spain, and sometimes I look up their prices for comparison. Cheers and happy Sunday!
  6. Hello guys! I wanted to start a discussion about what are the "acceptable" premium costs over spot price when buying silver bullion. I understand that premiums can change a lot depending on the brand/mint/manufacturer, and also on a possible "collectible" factor associated to the item. For the sake of this discussion, l would like to give two examples of my latest purchases: - Bought a 1 kilo silver bar on the second-hand market. The cost above spot was 23% - Bought a 100g silver bar, also on second-hand market. This time the cost above spot price was 39%. Both silver bars are from the same brand and refinery, and both were bought in the same second-hand marketplace. Since I'm fairly new to this type of investments, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Do you have a practical "rule of thumb" to avoid paying too much on premiums? Thank you! Appreciate your attention and share of ideas. Kind regards, Nuno
  7. Wow! Absolutely stunning set, I know nothing about coins but the presentation and boxing is just a whole different league. Congratz!! Enjoy it!
  8. Just received this one in the mail box today - 100g Silver bullion from one of our Portuguese refineries (Albino Moutinho). These are fairly popular in Portugal.
  9. Haha bom dia!! Well so far the weather has been awesome. Today we just had 26 ºC during the afternoon and now 17 ºC at night. Hope you get a chance to walk around Lisbon and get to know the city! And yes, you can never go wrong with Pastel de Belém. Take care and wish you a safe trip! Cheers!
  10. Hi guys! I have given a thought about making my own silver bars by using silver shot. I'm more of a stacker/investor profile, so I try to buy silver as close to spot price as possible. I found this vendor in Spain and so far has been the most competitive offer I found yet (although I never bought anything from them before): https://www.comprarlingotes.com/tienda/plata/otros-plata/saca-de-granalla-de-plata-pura-de-10kg-germania-mint-polonia/ Would you recommend any particular store/dealer to buy Silver Shot at a competitive price inside EU? Thank you in advance for your shared insights! Kind regards, Nuno from Portugal
  11. Hi everyone! I'm Nuno Elias, from Lisbon in Portugal! Thanks for having me! A couple of months ago I started digging into precious metals (pun intended). And then, out of curiosity, I did my first investment in a 1 kilo silver bar, which I bought on a second-hand market. I have a lack of words to describe how intrigued (yet very excited) I was to be holding onto a such a nice piece of pure silver. So I decided I wanted to learn more about silver, how to invest and collect it. And shortly after a couple of hours researching online, I found out about the Silver Forum. I'm still learning the ropes about silver, but hopefully some day I can contribute to this forum and to the community. Thank you, and wish you all a great weekend! Cheers, Nuno ...
