  1. Thats how i look at new cars too tbf! 🤣
  2. Oh of course.. and i would be happy to pay for such a service. However, as a yorkshireman, i dont like to venture over to the 'wrong' side of the Pennines unless its absolutely imperative. I will probably go to a big brand jeweller or pawnbroker cos i wont feel as bad wasting their time 😂 Is that what the 32 in 'James32' stands for? Or is that the amount of hoovers u have running at any one time? 😉 I am fairly new to the forum but i have noticed a few 'patterns' if u will.
  3. If i had scales i wouldve weighed it before posting, as i understand from our previous discussions regarding the crowns my mate at work owns, that the more info i can give, the more accurate the answers i receive. But thanks for your time. I appreciate it.
  4. @LawrenceChard @James32 @jackflash123 @Foster88 Thanks for your responses.. unfortunately i dont have scales to weigh it. As stated in OP it is 20mm in diameter including the mount (but not including the fancy ringy thingymabobs) so by my mind that would rule out a full sov. Im guessing u guys will have probably had experience of getting coins assessed at jewellers and pawnbrokers. Do they tend to charge for the service? As i have no intention of selling it unless im proper on my arse. Im happy to pay its just nice to know before i take it to one.. This forum is amazing! Thank u all so much
  5. Hi guys, about 10 years ago i inherited my deceased gran's chain. I found it while clearing a cupboard out today and it has a coin mounted in it that is the design of a 1907 sovereign. Being a newbie to PMs i have no clue if it is fake or real and wondered if anyone could help me out or advise where i could get it tested (pictures attached) The coin with mount is 20mm diameter, ruling out it being a full sovereign, but am i right in thinking it could be a half? I can try get better pictures as i do have a dslr camera but didnt see the point if someone can tell if its a fake from the mobile pics. *Disclaimer: i will be keeping it regardless of whether its a fake or not. Just nice to know so it can go with my bullion collection. Thanks in advance Murphy
  6. I have also bought from him through that facebook group, great seller.
  7. Ive done this on 2 occasions, and it works a treat. Even got a call from them after the money had gone through which is very reassuring..
  8. I have text my colleague, there are 16 bags total, 4 of which are completely sealed. The ones with legible labels still on them have 25p and £50 on. Images attached (4 sealed bags in one pic, other 12 in the other)
  9. Excellent, i am not back at work until tomorrow now but i will have a chat with him and message u if/when a decision is made. Thanks again
  10. This is superb advise.. thank you. The coins arent mine so dont have access to the sacks, im just trying to find out for my colleague.. the picture of the sack was taken by him and sent to me.. I wonder if it might be worth my while trying to buy them from him and then selling on to u.. u are in blackpool of im not mistaken? Im based in Leeds so a quick zip along the old 62..
  11. Hi guys, a colleague of mine has inherited a load (approx 10 bags) of Elizabeth and Philip 1972 coins and he asked if i could find out the value per coin. I couldnt see any hallmarks or anything but im new to this game so i dont really know what i am looking for. I have attached pictures of the best and worst looking coins he brought and the one of the bags. They feel like they weigh about an oz but i dont have scales to confirm. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Ta very much! Murphy

  15. Thanks for the advice @GoldDiggerDave and @LawrenceChard! Much appreciated. I was planning on going regardless. Just good to know.. i didnt want to get there expecting bargains and be disappointed.. i like to be realist in my own expectations.
  16. That is where i bought my latest batch of coins! 😂 Thanks for the advice. I may still pop along as its onky 20 mins from me. But with the intention of looking, not buying.
  17. From what i can gather its the last sunday of every month at a hotel in huddersfield..
  18. Hi gang, i was thinking of attending yorkshire coin fair as its quite local to me. Just after some info/advice really as i am a newbie. Im not looking to purchase older coins, more fractional gold and maybe the odd silver britannia (im on a small budget so investing small and often is the plan). Is it worth me tootling down the m62 or not? How do prices compare to places like this forum? Are modern coins (for lack of a better term) and small bars available at this sort of event? Any advice/info is very welcome. Thank you!
  19. We can let a little county rivalry slide when it comes to PMs my friend!
