Crossed over to the dark side in a  moment of weakness during the wee hours this morning ...purchased my first ounce of gold (I have been solely a silver stacker thus far)...it sort of felt like a betrayal.  Paid a 28% premium to the spot price of gold (includes all-in costs (shipping, /handling, CDN/US exchange rate fee, wire transfer costs)...but this lady is worth her weight in gold...a 2008 Gold proof Libertad (mintage 500). Key date is 2005 (mintage 250)..Only 400 minted in 2013. 500 mintage in 2007 AND 2008. ....eagerly anticipating her arrival!! Will post photo , likely next week mid-week

To day i finally received my SGB Box and the coins that was missing in the serie.






 

Last month I received 25 1-oz silver proof rounds from SD Bullion, the first series of the Heroes War Collection., which commemorates the D-Day landings. Specifically 1,557 Proof 1 oz Coins honor 1 of the 1,557 MIA Americans . Each one comes with an individualized C.O.A. in honour of each individual soldier.
Unfortunately my photos do not do the coins justice. (I am new to this and using a $100 dollar digital camera, and have a lot of difficulty with the light reflecting off of the coins mirror-like finish (If I shoot too close, one sees the reflection of the camera on the coin surface...if I back up the resolution suffers...any suggestions appreciated ).
I've displayed just 23 as I gifted one each to my brother and father and will likely gift a few more.

Today (actually yesterday) I also purchased the 1 kg 2014 Lunar Siver Horse , a proof for $1757 CDN and a bullion for $791CDN, both from APMEX.
