  1. I've thought about that too recently. Havn't got any platinum yet. Sadly I only started out in jan 2020 and didn't know a lot. I nearly bought a 1oz platinum lion of england for just under £700 I think it was then. Hindsight eh? ☹️
  2. Yes thanks I was looking at a 2022 half sovereign to be honest
  3. Thinking of getting a half sovereign instead of a tenth oz for now. Haven't bought sovereigns before so any thoughts or recommendations welcome. Thanks
  4. Indeed. Perception and value; interesting to look at in latin on google translate and their related words and meanings
  5. Not entirely sure maybe they think anything with her head on it will increase in value or they want to grab something before old jug lugs gets his head on the coins and Charles has been friends with the WEF too so maybe that's a concern for people about what they might be able to own in future I don't know really but look at what people are like; look at the toilet roll scramble in 2020 and people paying £40 for bottles of hand sanitiser. Fascinating thing the hive mind.
  6. why do i get a bad feeling about this? wasn't elizabeth (truss) against a monarchy? our new "King" was best friends with Savile, wants us to "own nothing and be happy" can't even access the royalmint site so many visitors: Thank you for visiting our website Following today’s announcement we are experiencing high volumes of visitors to our website. 7. Join in the daily workout routine with our new health secretary 🤣⚰️🪦👻
  8. Thanks for the reply. I do prefer the look of 24k but I think I prefer the coat of arms designs myself personally though
  9. Yes I can imagine that would be quite a feat to pull off 🙂
  10. Thanks but I should have been more clear I suppose; it's not a buying question more a question about does the britannia security features add any reassurance over a sovereign when accepting that coin in a general face to face trade? I do like the look of the gold standards but I think I prefer the royal arms and if I wasn't uncertain about the new sovereigns looking a little coppery I might have got one already but I do like the design better than the george and dragon in terms of looks at least.
  11. If you had to choose between a new 1/4 oz britannia with it's anti-forgery features or a sovereign and you could only do a brief visual inspection which one would you feel more comfortable accepting? This question is not regarding aesthetics and it's not a buying question more a question about does the britannia security features add any reassurance over a sovereign when accepting that coin in a general face to face trade
  12. Indeed and it's nice to at least have some fixed unit of measure
  13. seems like they have a basket of nut case ideologies going right now but yes I hope you're right, I appreciate you're positivity it's most welcome
  14. Bless you for that, that's a marvellous thing you wrote 💎😃🙏💧✔️
  15. Thanks for the reply and what about if I want to use them as money as well and not exchange it for fiat? same coins? I'm thinking the security features on the new britannias adds a bit of reasurrance for people who might not be as familiar with metal money although I agree soveriegns are well established as a coin generally.
  16. What's the better coin for someone to trust/recognise in a physical trade; a sovereign or a fractional 2021 or 22 britannia with it's anti forgery features? Any thoughts on stacking 9999 over 999 in terms of future accepted standards? Trying to decide what to buy on a low income so I can't spread out too much. Thanks.
