For sale here is a rare Ethiopian 1 Birr 1897.

 

Comprised of 28.075 g of .835 silver, these big Ethiopian crowns don’t come up much at all and are always sought after. These beautiful big coins were minted in Paris and feature the torch mark for the Paris Mint. The diameter of this coin is 40 mm. 

 

The obverse features Emperor Menelik II facing right and the reverse boasts a stunning depiction of the Lion of Judah carrying a cross.

 

These really are fantastic big coins and are always well received! This stunner would make an excellent addition to any world silver collection.
