Did Nixon kill the piggy bank?

I remember when I was a kid in the 80s, my grandparents gave me a piggy bank... it was a big white plastic hound.... but it was a piggy bank to put coins in.

My other friends had piggy banks as well that their parents or grand parents bought them. It was a lesson in saving.

If I were a kid in the 5s and filled that up I'd have enough to pay several months rent perhaps. but in modern coppernickel currency that deflates, it would be enough to buy a TV.

Lyndon B Johnson may have.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live, and It's  Britannia, with one t and two n's.
