Ultrasonic Testing Device - recommendations or suggestions?

Hi all:

I posted a question in the testing equipment thread, but didn't get comments.   So I decided to post a new thread to see if anyone can help out.   I'd like to know if anyone here have any recommendations or suggestions for an ultrasonic testing device.  I have the Landtek TM-8812C in mind, but I am leery of the custom duties and taxes I have to pay to bring this into Canada.   I am also looking at a Canadian sourced ultrasonic testing device, but of course it will be more expensive.  On the flip side, it will include technician calibration before shipment.   Both options still way cheaper than the Olympus quotes I got (see below).

Interesting side story: After contacting Olympus to see what they had for ultrasonic testing devices, I was required to fill out and declare on a US Enhanced Proliferation Control Initiative (or EPCI) form before they would even speak to me.  Basically it's a form that says you won't export this device to any countries that's on the US ban list for nuclear, chemical or biological weapons warfare.   😲  You can imagine how my jaw dropped to the floor after reading the one page waiver lol!

Olympus sales contacted me and he quoted the Epoch 650 at a nose bleeding cost of $12,471.20 Cdn Dollars.  I almost fell off my chair when I read that!   And that isn't even their most expensive tester!  The cheapest model came in at Cdn $3,214.40 for the 45MG.   All prices with VAT included.  So yeah, both out of my price range.   Gulp!

So anyways, any suggestions or recommendations is appreciated.   Cheers!
