Need to find a gold and silver smelter

You could ask at a local jewellers to find out if they have a smelter or any good silversmith would have at least access to one at a minimum.

The amount of silver that you have wouldn't really be viable or cost effective but there are crucible setups that work in a large microwave oven. Again not cost effective but if you're interested in the long term then go for it.

These are available all over the place online eBay and Amazon sell them.

You can melt down old copper in them to produce your own copper rounds.

Gone way off track here but as an aside to silver testing I spoke to a chap years ago who had a contemporary Victorian silver coin tester, essentially a large wall mounted lever in which the

coin was placed and the lever pulled down, a certain amount of flex in the coin proved the silver. I suppose experience was everything in judging the results of that exercise, might also explain

some of the warped pieces of Victoriana I've picked up in the past. I'm pretty sure I was told or read about stolen silver being turned into currency during Victorias reign, so

you could end up with a forged coin with a higher silver content than the real thing, not sure about the validity of that one.

Hi all,

I have some silver items that I would like to be melted down and turned into a silver bar. Can somebody recommend me a trusted and reputable smelter who can melt these silver items for me, for a reasonable price?

I definitely know that the bracelet and the sixpence coins contain silver, but i'm not 100% sure that the other items also contain silver.

I've attached some pictures to show what they are.

Hi I'm not pushing my wares but I have a refining lab and foundry. I process a few kilos a day. For myself I don't bother assaying as I know what I have but this is easy to outsource. If interested let me know. Can handle 10,000 oz bars, gold, copper, aluminum.. Started as a hobby but you know the addictive nature of stacking! Send an ounce and try me :)
