Syrian 50 Qirsh/Piastres

Hello!

I’m in the middle of a self education/collecting approach to researching and collecting Ssilver/gold content coins from each year of the 20th Century. I have a good start on a few decades and have recently turned my attention to the years 1936 and 1937 and inparticular the Syrian 50 Piastres.

Does anyone have any information on these coins? There is a bit online but not a great deal. They can be bought quite easily for £50-70 which seems to be a high price. I think I’m sold on filling the gap for either 36 or 37 with one of these but would ideally like to know more first!
