New stacker advice

Hi everyone , I'm new to stacking but am very keen to get involved. Am I right in thinking if I want to buy coins (namely 1 oz) just for their silver content to purchase any coin with the lowest premium? I've come across STG and they seem to be the cheapest out their. My theory is that since the silver and gold prices have taken a big tumble recently it may be a good idea to dip my toe into silver collecting whilst prices are low. Let's say I bought 100 maples @ £12.50 today for example and the silver spot went up to £20+ can I just sell my coins for a small percentage under spot presumably? I have some gold kruggerands and some slabbed proof silver coins and also some loose silver coins I purchased over the last year but now seems a good time. Obviously the spot of gold and silver can keep going down I am fully aware of that. Any help or advice is much appreciated..

If you're planning to sell to a dealer you can see what they are paying at the moment as a guide. https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/sell-to-us/

STG should show buy back prices too. Then you can guess what they might pay should silver rise to your sell price.

Also try the HGM website selling section, gives you a good comparison.

 

Although you would probably be able to sell on the forum somewhere between spot and the current price.

Am I right in thinking STG is my best bet If I want to buy silver purely for the content of the coin, and the cheapest?

Yes probably unless you can find cheap old circulated coins or scrap silver.
