Are proof Silver 5 £ Crowns an investment ?

Each time I buy a gold proof crown, i try to add the silver version to my collection aswell, mostly because i like them to be in pairs for some sentimental reason, but when we only consider the investment side, are they worth buying?  Any thoughts?

Not really. They are often scraped and don’t sell for much on secondary market. I must have had several over the years and the only one I recall keeping a nice premium is the 1977 Jubilee one which is a gorgeous design. 

Just last week a dealer I know was selling them by the kilo at spot plus 5% and had to melt the lot. 

They do ok on eBay but not at the premiums you would hope.
