WTB a 1997 Britannia.

Anyone got one spare or know where to get one?

I think you'll find that 1997 Britannia's were only produced as proof coins. 1997 was the first year they started to make them in silver. They were 95.8% silver but had a weight of 32.something grams so still had the 1 Oz of fine silver.

I have a proof set of 4, they are very nice. Although starting to tone a little now. I think you can still get the individual coins, but they are hard to find. From 1998 they started to release them as bullion. Still at 95.8% fineness, I forget when they switched to 999.

looking at about £90 for the Proof 1997 1oz Britannia if you wait for the right price on ebay.

do you prefer with box & COA or do you not mind if it just comes in a capsule?

today on ebay the cheapest is £147

looked into purchasing the 1997 4 coin set? Going for around £190 today but closer to £100 if you wait for the price.
