Quite telling that, not that far back we all watched the spot price hover above £11 thinking we would hold off and see if it dipped into the £10.90s. Now it's down around £9.60 and I'm thinking it's a little dear and maybe I should wait for another drop.
-
And $1 (US) is about £0.65
-
Wow, just looked at the spot price for the first time today. Looks like it has literally fallen off a cliff!
-
Glad I bought in November, I'd hate to think I had missed out
-
Just how important was the General Election in the UK? Well, "not much" if metal prices are anything to go by.
-
Today's gold purchase has been postponed. Gold isn't looking quite as attractive as it did on Friday
-
It's still pretty cheap. Having had no spare cash for the last 3 months, I've avoided paying much attention to spot or retail prices, yet whenever I check back in, all I see is that I'd still be paying a lot less than I paid for my first coins.
-
I've not bought anything recently due to needing cash elsewhere, but silver is looking very cheap again with these recent falls. What are the chances it will stay that way until pay day? (Dont answer that!) Gold still looks a touch expensive.
-
2 months ago it was £11.47 per oz, and we all thought that was pretty cheap. Whats the excitement about?
-
How the hell do you put on 2 stone without realising?
-
I detect sarcasm...

Good question CH. I have always thought that gold would go much further in past times.
And personally a tailoured suit is not worthy of an ounce of gold in my opinion.
Unless you have had a fully tailored suit - not just made to measure, but completely bespoke, then you have no idea what difference it makes.
-
What could you get for a pound back then?
-
Either drop or hold steady please
Agreed!

In situations like this, I want to understand the fundamentals behind the move. What caused such a sudden drop? Will it last? Is this a blip or a trend? Very difficult to know the answers or predict the future. The "buy now or wait" dilemma is always there, and we can't always be right.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but at the start of the week it looked like prices were going sideways, or maybe preparing to recover some of the previous losses, so I made a call. I believe it was a good call at the time, and would have been a very good call if today's drastic movement had been up instead of down so I'm not upset at all. Still added to the stack at the cheapest prices I've ever got silver for - not too bad!

OK. still falling but I had to place my order, I am going out this afternoon.
I ordered at £9.60
Watch it plummet for you guys now! lol It's already dropped to £9.56!!
I ordered at 10.00 at the beginning of the week - how do you think I am feeling now?
I don't know what's brought this on, but at this rate I'll be making another purchase
-
but they now have become more up to date driving pick up trucks , and they all drive in reverse
-
It already dropped into the 9's early this morning.
Apologies, I'm not a morning person
-
Shocked. If this continues we will be looking at £9.xx/oz before close. I'd thought a correction was due, but not yet it seems.
-
Who cares if it drops more? I'd happily order now if I can afford to, because the price is cheap in my opinion. Many on here can remember much higher prices, so £10.56 is a comparative bargain regardless.
If it falls after I buy, I don't care. I am not going to be selling next week, or even next year.

All that matters is STG maple watch
-
Back above £10.50 - it's going "to the moon"
-
Tis a quote from Hamlet. But yes something is not right (and not just in Denmark) when the silver price continues dropping like this, getting ever closer to extraction cost whilst supplies supposedly dwindle. Wasn't planning to buy anything this week but it might be too good an opportunity to pass up if this slide keeps going.
-
Guessing it will stay more or less steady. I think anything within the £10.50 - £11.00 range still represents a very good price.
Silver Monitoring Thread £ (GBP) only.

Looking decidedly more expensive than a few months ago, but I suppose still quite cheap in the grand scheme of things.
