I don't know the story behind these or if they were ever sold directly by the Royal Mint, but mine came from JM Bullion.  At just over $18 per oz I thought I would buy a few as I liked the design. Â

Not today, but recently...I added more to make 1 kilo of BYB's 100g Silver Forum bars!  They actually fit perfectly in this APMEX box, which will hopefully also contain 2018 bars this coming year ?

A puzzle board and silver elemental cube from @BackyardBullion.  The puzzle board looks great and is extremely functional...the tiles slide very easily and smoothly.  Also the elemental cube is very well done.  I wasn't sure how a poured, hand made version of these cubes would turn out, but he did an awesome job!

It certainly is, and the Royal Mint did a nice job selecting the form factor.  It's much thicker than other 100oz bars I've seen like Baird and RCM.

I received this replacement 100oz Britannia bar from APMEX. Â To their credit they replaced to bar without hesitation even though it's very close to spot bullion! Â It did take a while as they sold out and needed to buy more. Â IÂ included a "before replacement" picture below, or you can look back in the thread history.

Some gold given the decline in price. Â I really do like these Britannia bars, and the premiums are lower than the Eagles in both gold and silver!.

APMEX has already emailed me a pre-paid label for return postage in response to a photo of this bar.  So at least they did the right thing, and without any hassleđ

I agree with all the comments above, and will attempt to get a replacement.  I purchased it from APMEX via presale for $1,506.  So $15.06/oz is good, but I would expect more from a brand new bar. Thank you all for your input!

I received this very substantial 100oz bar today.  I think the design is great, and I was surprised by the thickness (other 100oz bars I've seen are longer and flatter).  The 1/4 oz dragon is there to illustrate the thickness of this bar.  Unfortunately it has a dark blemish on one side, and a large gash on the other.  It was a very low premium, but I still might ask about an exchange.  I really do like the bar itself though!đ

A 10oz Britannia bar.  I don't know yet if it will come out of the sealed plastic pouch... đ

These rounds were on sale on APMEX last week, so I grabbed a few.  The US government dumped silver into the open market in 1980 and 1981 to drive down prices after the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market, and these were supposedly minted using the silver sold from the strategic reserve.  In any case, not bad looking for over 35 years old!

This is a belated "today I received", because after a very public hallmarking failure at the Edinburgh Assay Office due to silver contamination, this BYB gold bar was hesitant to leave the pouchÂ
However, it eventually mustered the courage to emerge, with the help of these gold eagles which it turns out are 3% silver.  The bar began to realize there is other gold bullion in the world that contains even more silver, but is still widely accepted.
Now well adjusted, and comfortable with its silver content, the bar has joined the stack and exists in harmony with bullion of all shapes, sizes, and metal content. Â
A huge thank you to @BackyardBullion for doing on awesome job with this bar, as usual!!

I received my silver chess set from @BackyardBullion and a handmade board from BYB senior.  Itâs incredible, and they truly did an amazing job. The pictures look great, but they donât do it justice. Right down to the weights and hallmarks on every piece, the craftsmanship is awesome. This is the nicest thing made of silver that I own. Thank you!! đ
