  1. thank for the comment, yes they were done in open sand casts hence why i get different back looks not uniform, i did run them through the tumbler for 20mins to give them a bit of a buff up, only got that bit of kit this week so was itching to give it a try!
  2. Thank you very much for the kind words, it is a great hobby / side hustle, i just love pouring watching it come out and plop in the mould or sand, just really is a great thing to do, i would suggest it to anyone to have a go!
  3. yes indeed, watched lots of videos of theres on youtube, its something to aim for sure to get to that standard of output, i bought one of @BackyardBullion channel bars and was stunned by the quality and neatness of it, top drawer workmanship, i have registered and have started to get pieces hallmarked, and trying to flog a few! these will be going soon
  4. thank you! getting better slowly, each time im at the furnace its starting to feel a bit safer and more at home, was daunting at first but getting used to holding a pot of hot metal now
  5. count me in that group also, im pretty much learning on the job, been watching youtube a lot and looking at other peoples work / items trying to piece together how to do it!
  6. Hi Thelonerangershorse! thanks for message, more of just the fact they are 1ozt and stacking can be done due to the square shape on top of each other, i open cast my bits in sand so the backs will be solid, i havent got a stamp machine yet so i cant impress stuff like you suggested, a thing to think about for the future though! cheers Matt

  8. Hey Bigmarc! you can do it that way which is the most easiest way of doing it and accurate, but you need to fully tip up the crucible you are melting it in which means you get debris of graphite and other bits of dross, i like to over fill and then pour by eye so you get a more pure result with less clean up work, as if you do you just go 1oz then have heavy graphite pollution when you clean it off you could come under the 1oz weight, very much a work in progress for me to determine the best way of doing things, i know some pourers do over pours like these others do it measure out melts for it. cheers Matt
  9. Hey Folks, another update for those interested (if any 😂) This morning I have been trying to hit the 1 ozt pour size consistently, done a couple of new designs, i like the way they came out, look pretty much the same on the front but all unique on the back and in shape, but all weight 1 ozt, great fun doing it, had lots of remelts, but the more i did the more the weight got right! just thinking up some new designs to play with, here is this morning, "1 ozt Sun Stacker Piece" and "1 ozt Skull Stacker Piece" with the deco ladies now in the 1 ozt weight.
  10. many thanks for the kind words Aldebaran! haven't heard of that so did a quick google, yes very similar colour wise, i love the colours in that metal, more experiments coming later this week when i get out and pour again!
  11. Hey Folks hope you are all doing well and stacking good and high! Some new ideas i have been playing about with, like using the toning solution at the moment, getting some nice dark iridescent blue effects, timing and temperature of the solution playing a major part in the strength of the outcome, had some interesting results, some good some not so good, here is some of my favourites from the last couple of days colour wise on some bars and some new little lady double portrait stacker bits I'm experimenting with. Cheers Matt
  12. thank you for the kind words, glad it arrived so quick! I'm guessing I just need to build my feedback up a bit to get a selling reputation up and running! thanks and warm regards Matt
  13. hahahahaha, yes it would tone down more with time if you take it out of the vac pack, it would look great in a year or so im guessing!
  14. Thank you, these toned up well, was playing with more cooling lines on these!
  15. Many thanks for taking the time to read the post and cheers for the reply, its takes all views and likes / dislikes to make a good debate thank you for adding your view, good luck with the stacking!
