  8. And my final comment; here is the claim example direct from Royal Mail with regards to who and what value they cover for each link in the chain. Now, if you still think you know better than their T&Cs by all means keep offering your customers a service that leaves them out of pocket in the event of an issue. Or, follow the correct steps for shipping and safeguard you and the customer. My choice is the latter to ensure customer satisfaction. "Proof of value includes but is not limited to copies of original receipts, invoices, PayPal records, online sale pages (eBay, Amazon etc.), e-receipts, manufacturing costs, auctioneers valuation and repair costs in the case of damage. Proof of value for the actual loss is what the item cost you to acquire, purchase or manufacture (or repair in the case of damage) Below is an example of actual loss: Mrs Smith (the end purchaser) bought a pair of jeans from a shop and paid £25 for them. If she posts them on and they go missing she can claim what it cost her to purchase the jeans, i.e. £25. The Shop (the retailer) that sells the jeans buys them from the manufacturer for £15. If they post them and they go missing they can claim what it cost them to acquire the jeans, i.e. £15. The Factory (the manufacturer) that supplies the shop makes the jeans for £10. If they post them and they go missing they can claim what the item cost them to manufacture, i.e. £10."
  9. Did you claim as a business? Then yes that would apply. If not then you get lucky. As a private seller their terms are quite clear and for the sake of a line of text to ensure full insurance cover I know which one I'd choose.
