Newbie to Silver. Silver Grain

Recommended Posts

Why do people not buy silver grain instead of rounds? Rounds are usually sold much higher than spot price. If you have a reputable dealer of which there are many online why not buy grain and melt into bars yourself?

Also, would the rounds I attached be cast or stamped? I would like to make something that looks like those old pirate coins/doubloons.

Thank you

In the UK at least it can be difficult to sell any bars/coins you've made yourself, and not many dealers sell/buy grain either. So it's nice for personal project but kind of useless as an investment option here.

Casting is more for bars. With coins/rounds you'd have hammered or minted. The middle image looks minted to me, the other two maybe hammered.
