2004 UK pattern set

I have this set too. Bought it about a year ago as I really liked the designs, reminded me of the queen's beasts range.

My understanding is that it was considered as a design for the pound coin but the bridges set was chosen to enter circulation instead. However the royal mint made this pattern set in sterling silver as the design was well received or something along those lines

Where did you pick yours up from?

Hi,  I got the set from a dealer out of Texas.  With the shipping I paid $80 U.S.  I do not know if that is a good buy but I like the coins.  Jim

That's what I thought too, I liked the set so I bought it. Tends to be my rule with most buys. I paid just over £80 so I think you have a good deal there
