Hi, I’m new to melting silver down and wanted to practice before I start casting it for jewellery. I bought an electric furnace and for my first try I put the silver in and heated it then when it became liquid I put borax to remove any impurities. When I pour the silver into water it comes out discoloured what am I doing wrong? Or is it the silver?
