  1. You can say naive but I was struggling to line up buyers for a potential profit here. The market is in a dire state in my opinion.
  2. Thanks for pointing out the suspicious profile guys. She is now blocked & reported to facebook.
  3. Okay well I’ve moved since I was in Eastleigh, that’s an easy one to answer. I had to move for work.
  4. I have no idea who she is mate but definitely doesn’t look like a normal facebook profile picture to me.
  5. Okay, this is getting out of hand. I saw these on FB Marketplace. I was trying to gauge if there was any interest. in the case there was I planned on going down to the lady on Saturday to purchase. I didn’t even notice how suspicious the profile was until it was mentioned on here. After it got flagged up on here I got my wife to look into it. I was both shocked & surprised when I discovered the person has no friends & lots of other red flags so admittedly there was likely no opportunity here but I was never willing to take funds until they were in my possession.
  6. Look if I’m getting banned for almost falling for a scam so be it.
  7. In the current market conditions I thought wise to be sure there were potential buyers before pulling the trigger. If anyone needs a link to my eBay account I’ve sold plenty of coins without negative feedback.
  8. Yes I was looking to turn a profit, I admit that but not in an underhand or illegal way. The one point I want to make is I’m familiar with Great Dunmow, it’s 15mins away from my brothers so I could acquire these in person. I personally bought one coin on facebook marketplace before, it was the Kew Gardens 50p. It never arrived & me & my wife had to get the bank on the case. They gave our money back & shut down the scammers bank account. That’s why id never purchase from FB marketplace without viewing the goods in person.
  9. The id & proof of address would only be needed after acquiring the goods & sending them before receiving payment. I’m not interested in that.
  10. I don’t know why there’s so much accusing going on here.
  11. My wife has done more research on this for me as she has a facebook account & she told me that she’s 99% that the lady’s account is not legit. I’m still going to try to meet the person in Great Dunmow if they get back to me as it stands but there’s definitely some question marks. It did look too good to be true tbh looking back.
  12. I get where you’re coming from, if it had been a year ago I’d have had the cash when I came across it but the past couple of months things have got tighter. So it’s a case of needs must. I know that’s not the case for most on here as there’s a lot of deep pockets but still.
  13. I saw an opportunity, or at least I thought I did with a valid reason for sale. Come Saturday I may be the one who looks clever when I go down to Great Dunmow & meet her. So I’d ask people to wait first before making assumptions.
  14. Dear all, to address this, I saw the adverts on facebook but was looking for buyers before pulling the trigger. Due to the fact the amounts involved would put me under too much pressure to purchase without already having a buyer lined up. Obviously I was going to make sure I had in hand prior to any deal. The person is 15mins away from me so I was planning on going down there on Saturday. I can’t comment on if that’s a legit profile or not as I took it as good faith because she said she is having a child soon.
  15. Don’t pay any attention to the prices listed on facebook
  16. I can potentially post first to the buyer but I would need an email with proof of ID, a scan of passport or driving license & up-to-date proof of address, utility bill would suffice.
  17. I’m open to offers on these. I can meet in person if anyone can meet in London, Essex or Hampshire areas. PayPal goods & services is another option.
  18. One last attempt before withdrawing. Offers will be entertained. All 3 lots reduced by a further £50 each. Now £100 reduction on each individual lot.
  19. Also for sale, an 1887 gold double sovereign in VF condition: £775 including RMSD. Finally, a 22ct gold full sovereign in a 9ct gold ring mount, 15.2 grams total weight. £525 including RMSD.
